Michelle Seitz is a member of William Blair’s executive committee and the head of William Blair Investment Management, which manages $64.1 billion (as of June 30, 2016) across the firm’s institutional, mutual fund, and private wealth management businesses. Ms. Seitz serves as the chairman of the board and president for the William Blair Funds, which comprises 25 open-end mutual funds in the areas of international and global equity, U.S. equity, multi-asset, U.S. fixed income, and cash management. William Blair also acts as advisor to 8 offshore funds.

Ms. Seitz has 28 years of investment experience and more than 17 years of executive leadership responsibility. Before assuming leadership of William Blair Investment Management in 2001, she headed William Blair’s Wealth Management Services and Private Wealth Management. Her previous experience includes senior portfolio management roles with WBIM, Concord Investment Company, and Nationsbank in North Carolina.

Ms. Seitz serves on the board of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) which is responsible for the oversight, administration, and finances of FASB and GASB. She also serves on the boards of the U.S. Institute, Indiana University’s Investment Management Academy in the Kelley School of Business, and The International Women’s Forum of Chicago. She is founding co-chair of The Chicago Council’s Women in Global Development Forum, a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO Chicago Chapter), The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, The Chicago Network, The Committee of 200, The Executive’s Club, and The Economic Club of Chicago. Ms. Seitz is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has been profiled in Forbes, Pensions & Investments, the Financial Times, the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, Financial News, and James Ware’s book, Investment Leadership.

Education: B.S. in accounting from Indiana University; Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1990.
