Scott Marolf is a senior investment analyst for American Century Investments, a premier investment manager based in Kansas City, Missouri. Marolf provides fundamental research and equity analysis in the technology and consumer discretionary sectors for the U.S. Large Cap Growth team. Previously, he provided fundamental research and equity analysis for the U.S. Opportunistic Mid Cap Growth and U.S. All Cap Growth strategies. Before joining American Century Investments in 2008, Marolf worked as a senior auditor at Americo Financial Life and Annuity and as an auditor for Sprint Corporation. He received bachelor’s degrees in business administration and Spanish from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
John McCarthy oversees the Carlson Capital’s equity relative value business. He has 13 years of experience investing in this strategy, including 11 years with Carlson Capital. He had been focused on
the communications, media, entertainment (CME) and consumer sectors and served as a portfolio manager for 10 years. Previously, he was a partner and sector manager of CME at Saranac Capital Management L.P. McCarthy started his career at Merrill Lynch, where as vice president he advised financial institutions on global asset allocation and investments in alternative products within MLIM, the investment management division. McCarthy received a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Skidmore College and is a CFA charterholder.
Xan Moore joined Carlson Capital in 2010. Before joining Carlson, he was an analyst at Brookline Avenue Partners, a multi-strategy hedge fund. Moore began his career as an equity salesperson in the Latin America group of J.P. Morgan Securities. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish from The University of the South and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Win Murray has been a co-manager of the Oakmark Select Fund (OAKLX) since 2013. He also serves as the director of U.S. equity research at Harris Associates. He joined Harris Associates in 2003 as an equity analyst after working in investment roles at Colonial Management Associates, Federated Investors, and ASB Capital Management. He received a master’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University in 1996 and a bachelor’s degree in Russian/East European studies from the University of North Carolina in 1992.
